The EarlyWorks Family of Museums is always in need of adding exceptional individuals and groups to our family of volunteers.  We welcome those willing to give their time and talents to enhance our mission of providing an exciting educational experience to children through “hands on” exploration.


Learn and develop new skills through volunteering with one of Huntsville’s premiere attractions


Add to your personal knowledge base regarding our local history by interacting with visitors, staff, other dedicated volunteers, and the Museum overall


Join a community of friends who share the love of active learning and collaboration​


Gain experience working with children at special events for school or work requirements


Enhance professional skills for your personal development

  • Minimum age: 16 years or 15 years with a letter of recommendation from a teacher, etc. 
  • Reliability, flexibility, and positive people skills
  • Experience interacting with younger children
  • Enthusiasm about supporting the children of our community
  • For certain volunteer opportunities the following attributes are helpful:
    • The ability to stand or sit for long periods of time
    • Ease of public speaking
    • Willingness to learn and share local history
    • Administrative abilities for programmatic needs
    • Previous work with group facilitation
    • The love of gardening
    • Enjoyment in cleaning, organizing, and creating a safe space for children
    • Ability and delight in reading aloud to children
